The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life in Atlanta is the world's largest!

We talk to the organizer's to learn more about what this event does to help cancer research...

April 29, 2019

It's been more than eight years since my Mom and I last said "I love you" to one another. I'm thankful every day I wake up that I still can remember her voice and the smell of her favorit perfume on her. The little things, right?

I will always remember how it sounded when she laughed. Man, could she and my aunt Terry (her younger sister) crack jokes ... usually at the expense of someone else in the family, but so be it. Miss 'em both.

Mom lost a battle with gallbladder cancer - an extremely rare carcinoma - back in March of 2011. I'm a little embarrassed to say that my family and I haven't really found the time or energy to participate in a Relay For Life until this year, but I am SUPER-excited to not only participate in one, but in the LARGEST one in the world! I'd be HONORED if you'd join our Star 94.1 team - the Walkie Talkies - [JOIN OR DONATE HERE] or donate if you'd like in my Mom's honor or in honor of someone YOU know who's battled cancer or IS battling cancer.

I had the pleasure of getting to meet some of the Gwinnett Relay For Life team and wanted to share our conversation with you.

See you Friday, May 10th at Gwinnett County Fairgrounds in Lawrenceville - and if you can't make it, make your presence known, anyhow!
