Social media is filled with vitriol and hatred these days. Isn't it?

Or is it just my newsfeeds and timelines?

There are SO many things to argue about, and SO many reasons to jump down each others' throats. And if you venture off into the Twitterverse, you could find yourself going down a rabbit hole to hell.

Throwing shade, people clapping back, it's all too much to take. And honestly, it's all BS.

There are, however, some amazing people that rise to the top and give us all hope for humanity for another day.

Patton Oswalt is definitey one of those people.

After losing his wife two years ago, he poured his heart out to his fans and the world fell in love all over again with the comedian.

But like any beloved celebrity, he has his shares of Twitter attacks thrown his way. When he was trolled by a man named Michael Beatty, he could have simply gone right back at him and the whole thing could have ended up in a feud with name calling and blocking.

But that's why Patton is Patton.

He decided to go a different route. So he looked up his Twitter Troll, only to discover the man was dealing with A LOT, healthwise.

Michael had set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for his medical bills.

So Patton made that donation... and so did his fans. They met the $5,000 goal in no time at all, then took it up to $13,000!

Michael responded you guys, and this is where the tissues come in handy.

Thank you, Patton. Thank you for being you.
