As we remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. today, the community of Atlanta will be hosting a number of events you can join. Whether to celebrate Dr. King, or volunteer for your community in his honor, here are a few of the many events you can be a part of today. 

​The Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual Commemorative Service will be broadcast live on Fox 5 Atlanta from Ebenezer Baptist Church – Horizon Sanctuary on Monday, January 20th, 10:00am-1:00pm

There will be a march and rally for Dr. King in Atlanta today, between 1pm and 3pm.  It will start at the intersection of Peachtree Street and Baker Street and end in front of The King Center.

The King Holiday Events at the King Center conclude with The Beloved Community Talks: Let’s Bridge the Racial Divide, also be held on January 20th, 6:00pm – 8:00pm, at The King Center in The Yolanda D. King Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Day of Service with The Packaged Good: Contribute to your community by preparing care packages for the homeless and underserved families in metro Atlanta. 18th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Service Project: Grab your toolbox because the Martin Luther King Jr. Service Project needs volunteers at senior citizen homes in Oakhurst. Prepare to make repairs and do yardwork for elderly homeowners who are unable to afford the maintenance. Various times. Jan. 18-20. Free. The Solarium, 321 W. Hill St., Decatur. 770-652-8593,
