Jenn found this good news story from a local listener!

Your everyday hero is a fellow listener to Star 94.1! Dianne Williams is an ovarian cancer survivor. It was 13 years ago that she received high doses of chemotherapy for 6 months. She beat it! And in honor of that fight, Dianne and her friends collect gifts for children battling cancer at CHOA.

Dianne and her husband make activity bags filled with fun items for the children and teens on the cancer units at Egleston and Scottish Rite hospitals. Last year, they donated 150 bags filled with items such as play dough, puzzles, coloring books, crayons, cars, Barbies, tee activities, hats, etc.

Dianne says, “This is a simple way to send a hug and a smile to these sick kids and their families during a tough time.” She is always collecting more donations like coloring books, markers, small dolls, cars, nail polish, cute socks, decks of cards, earbuds, adult art items, games, and play dough. Dianne wraps all the items with colorful ribbons to make each surprise feel special. To join Dianne in her amazing acts of kindness for others, click HERE.

Thanks, Dianne! You are our everyday HERO!
