We’re very close to being able to enjoy a few new breweries around town. That’s always a good idea.

The StillFire Brewing opening is just around the corner. Signage on the building was raised earlier in September and Stillfire has been releasing looks at their can designs for the initial offerings. Here’s what’s been revealed thus far:

  • A rye pale ale called Why Georgia Rye.
  • A wheat ale called Orange Diva.
  • A hazy IPA with citrus, passion fruit, guava and lime aromas called Glory Haze.
  • A west coast IPA, and a member of their Dropout Series, called Drop Out IPA.
  • Another Dropout Series brew called Tropical Drop Out IPA, also with passion fruit and guava.
  • You’ll be able to enjoy these beers at StillFire Brewing soon.

High Card Brewing is coming to Tucker. They just announced they’ve passed their final inspection. That means it’s time to start brewing.

They’ve already shared their core beers and a few seasonals. Aces en Fuego, a habanero double IPA is extremely intriguing, as is their PB Jammin’, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich ale.

While we’re waiting on these two new breweries, here are five local brews to grab this weekend:

  1. At 4 p.m. on Friday, Atlanta Brewing Company is releasing Rising Hope IPA in their taproom. With this one you can crush a few brews for a good cause. Proceeds will go to help children battling pediatric cancer.
  2. Variant Brewing Company in Roswell has a new Czech Pilsner out called Hand Hugs. The name alone is worthy of drinking this one.
  3. Since we’re talking Roswell, Gate City Brewing released Island Time. It’s a stout with dark fruit, raisin, chocolate, molasses with Carafa malts.
  4. Monday Night Brewing’s popular Ante Meridiem is being released on Friday. Along with it is a Breakfast Ante Meridiem aged in maple bourbon barrels. The Imperial Brown Ale as a fabulous maple and coffee feel.
  5. Tucker Brewing Company is dropping the third beer in its Kellerbier series on Friday. This one is an unfiltered brown lager called Rebel Keller.
