Looking for something new this weekend? Here are five #drinklocal ideas.

  • The Lost Druid is about to release an American IPA called The Fire of Beltane. They brewed the four-hop IPA on July 7 and will bring it to their taproom soon and the Dames & Dregs Beerfest on Sunday, July 14.
  • Thursday night, Schoolhouse Brewing will release two new brews. The first is a boysenberry sour called A Boysen Named Sue while the second is called Erdbeerfelder, which is a strawberry fruited heffeweizen.
  • Fresh off its powerful showing at the U.S. Open Beer Championship, Cherry Street is releasing Juicy Suzy DDH IPA where the brewery followed “newer, experimental hopping and fermentation techniques” to bring this heavily dry-hopped beer to the scene.
  • If you like papaya, lychees, bananas, ataulfo mangos, passionfruit and Andean blackberries then this Sunday (7-14) you’ll want to be at Pontoon Brewing in Sandy Springs. This sour will be the first in their Sooper Froot program. According to their IG page, they used 2.5-3.5 pounds of fruit per gallon and found the fruit at local farmers markets.
  • Fans of Reformation Brewery’s JOGR the Juicy Lager and Atlanta United will be thrilled that this beer has been wrapped and temporarily rebranded as Golden Spike Juicy Lager. This new can will launch at the Esperanza Supporters Club tailgate.

Some brew news to talk over with your friends…

Social Fox Brewing announced that it will open in 2020 in Historic Downtown Norcross.

I love pairing food and beer. Who doesn’t? Farm Burger in Grant Park has been showing some mouth-watering burger and beer matchups recently. Thursday they put a farm-to-table chicken and Swiss burger with white BBQ sauce with a Tropicalia from Creature Comforts. On Wednesday they matched Eventide’s Citrus Grove hefeweizen with a crispy fried vegan burger topped with Wisconsin cheddar, grilled tofu, tomato, arugula, & paprika mayo. Farm Burger Grant Park is a must-follow for foodies and craft beer aficionados in town.
